🎓 STEVEN D. FRIEDRICKS SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE EXTENDED
The 146th Wing Association Board of Directors has extended the deadline to October 15, 2026, to receive applications for the Steven D. Friedricks Scholarship.
Eligibility:
• Enlisted personnel currently serving in the 146th Airlift Wing, E-6 and below
• Applicants do not have to be members of the 146th Wing Association
• First-time applicants will be given priority
This is an excellent opportunity for eligible 146th Airlift Wing enlisted personnel to receive educational assistance through the Steven D. Friedricks Scholarship.

The 146th Wing Association established the Steven Friedricks Scholarship Fund Policy for awarding scholarships to members of the 146th Airlift Wing. The Fund awards scholarships to deserving 146th enlisted members E-6 and below to pursue their civilian education. The 146th Wing Association Board of Directors shall appoint a Scholarship Committee who will determine selection criteria and shall select the scholarship recipients. The Committee Chair will present the proposed scholarship recipients to the 146th Wing Association Board of Directors for approval.
The 146th Wing Association is an IRC 501 C (3) public charity and complies with IRC 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi) of the US Tax Code. Since you have received no goods or services for your contribution, the full amount of your donation is tax deductible as per the IRS
- Eligibility for the Steven Friedricks Scholarship Fund is limited to 146th Airlift Wing members E-6 and below who are enrolled or plan to enroll in college, university, or trade school of their choice during the award period. Applicants studying for an Associate of Arts degree or a Bachelor’s degree will be given first priority.
- Scholarships awarded in the Spring Semester shall be available to students for disbursements in the following Fall Semester upon verification of registration in classes.
- Our intent is to award 15 scholarships or more annually if the budget permits or as the budget dictates.
- The 146th Airlift Wing military members who have been awarded a scholarship may claim their funds 30 days after the date awarded and utilize these funds within two years of receiving funds. A scholarship or funded student account that is unclaimed after two years shall lapse and the funds awarded shall be returned to the Scholarship Fund. However, the Board of Directors may restore the award if funds are available and if the Recipient provides evidence of circumstances that prevented claiming or utilizing the award within the two-year period.
